Frequently asked questions
The OPRA exam itself, and how ClinicalStem works. Can't find what you need? The free study guides go into far more depth.
What is the OPRA exam?
The OPRA (Overseas Pharmacist Readiness Assessment) exam is the Australian Pharmacy Council's assessment for internationally qualified pharmacists seeking registration to practise in Australia. See the full OPRA exam guide for eligibility, format and the registration pathway.
How many questions are in the OPRA exam?
The OPRA exam contains 120 multiple-choice questions and runs for 150 minutes. ClinicalStem's full mocks replicate this exact question count and timing.
What is the OPRA pass mark?
The APC does not publish a simple percentage pass mark — it sets the standard through psychometric standard-setting, and your result is based on overall performance across the exam. 70% is ClinicalStem's own preparation benchmark, not an estimate of the APC's standard — we use it throughout our readiness scoring so you have a consistent target to prepare against.
What topics does the OPRA exam cover?
Five domains: Therapeutics and patient care (45%), Biomedical sciences (20%), Pharmacology and toxicology (15%), Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (10%), and Medicinal chemistry and biopharmaceutics (10%) — see the exam composition breakdown on the home page.
How do I prepare for the OPRA exam?
A large practice question bank, timed full-length mock exams weighted to the real domain split, spaced-repetition review, and dedicated calculation practice — see the full study method guide for how to sequence it.
Is ClinicalStem suitable for overseas-trained pharmacists?
Yes — it's built specifically for the OPRA exam and overseas-trained pharmacists preparing for Australian registration, with questions written against Australian references (Therapeutic Guidelines, the AMH, the TGA) rather than a generic or international question bank.
How does the free plan work?
A free account unlocks 50 MCQs, 5 Crash Course modules, the first 50 flashcards and the full Calculations Lab — no payment details required, and no time limit on the free tier itself.
Do the 3- and 6-month Pro plans auto-renew?
No. Monthly Pro is a subscription that renews until you cancel. The 3- and 6-month plans are one-off, prepaid passes that expire at the end of the term — there's nothing to cancel and no surprise renewal charge.
Still deciding? The free plan needs no payment details, and the Calculations Lab and study guides are open without an account.
